Coding and robotics have a major role to play in the future of education. Scitech robotics workshops make use of advanced classroom technology, providing instant engagement in STEM and developing creative problem solving skills across multiple curricular areas.
Robotics and Coding classroom rental kit (Years 7-8)
with MakeBlock mBot
Scitech’s Robotics and Coding classroom rental kit contains everything needed to get started with the Digital Technologies curriculum. The kit includes a class set of robots, along with lesson plans for a series of ten 1-hour lessons. The kit is extensively linked to the WA Technologies curriculum for Years 7 and 8, and is designed to facilitate the delivery of numerous curricular outcomes in Digital Technologies and Design and Technologies, incorporating both Knowledge and Understanding and Processes and Production Skills.
The kit is also intended as an introduction to robotics for absolute beginners, and is designed to be delivered by any teacher with zero prior experience and without the need to spend many hours learning how to deliver a new subject. The included robots can be programmed using Scratch, a free online programming language designed to help young people get started with coding using a simple drag-and-drop interface. For teachers who wish to familiarise themselves with equipment and software before the first lesson, an extensive teacher manual is included. For more ambitious teachers (and students), the kit includes a range of extension activities and challenges. The kit can also be used as a springboard into teaching Scratch and Arduino programming in your own classroom.
