Science in Motion
Taking the form of a race track complete with pit lane, workshop and physical testing environments, Speed reveals the cutting edge science and technology behind motor sports. This exhilirating exhibition looks closely at the physics, engineering, human endurance and biology that has lifted auto racing to the highest echelons of modern technological achievement.
Speed is divided into three sections:
The Race Track tests visitors skills with a race simulator where they can compete against another driver, or change a tyre under Formula One conditions.
Fitness testing measures visitors anticipation, reaction time, peripheral vision and heart rate to see if they have what it takes to become a professional Formula One driver.
The workshop shows how Formula One cars work and reveals the science behind engines, aerodynamics and motion.
