Lotterywest grant supports major Scitech transformation
Scitech's permanent central gallery will be transformed with 18 new exhibits.
We wanted to share some of the big ideas that we heard in survey responses, and how you’ve helped us to make some changes at our Science Centre.
We’ve been blown away by our community’s response to our online post-visit surveys. Evaluating our visitors’ experiences is an ongoing process. But we wanted to share some of the big ideas that we heard in survey responses, and how you’ve helped us to make some changes at our Science Centre.
Online booking process:
You may already know that we’ve implemented a pre-visit booking system to manage numbers in the Science Centre. This system allows both Members and General Admission visitors to book ahead and reserve their place in our Science Centre.
You told us in our post-visit survey that this is a precaution that helped you to feel safe and comfortable when visiting Scitech. Thanks to your survey feedback, we were able to tweak the numbers of Scitech Members and General Admission visitors that we welcomed to accommodate for more of our valued Members.
If you’re planning to visit Scitech soon, make sure to reserve your spot here.
If you’d like to become a Scitech Member, you can find more information here.
Science shows good, queues bad:
We heard in your survey responses how much you value our Science Theatre shows. What you don’t love so much is having to queue. Even worse, is missing out on seeing a show due to reduced audience capacity in the Science Theatre, another measure we’ve put in place to keep our visitors safe.
So, we ramped up the number of theatre shows we deliver each day. This means less queuing for you, and more happy show-goers for our talented team to entertain!
When you next visit Scitech you can also expect to see our new Science Theatre show – Lightbulb Moments!
Planetarium shows for our youngest scientists:
We know that our visitors love the Scitech Planetarium. But, our typical 45-minute shows can be a touch too much for some of our youngest scientists. Because COVID restrictions have meant we’re unable to offer a Puppet Theatre experience, our team have been putting on 10-minute Planetarium shows to make sure there’s something for everyone.
You told us how much you appreciate these mini Planetarium shows – so we’ll be incorporating them into our regular roster going forward. You can look forward to seeing them on weekends at the Science Centre, and throughout the school holidays.
These are just some of the changes we’ve adopted as a result of your feedback. Make sure to pay a visit to our Science Centre to check out the rest! Keep your eyes peeled for new members of our Scitech Team, improved snacking options and-of course- our all new exhibition, Earth Matters.
And once you’ve visited, don’t forget to tell us what you think in our post-visit survey.
Upon clicking the "Book Now" or "Buy Gift Card" buttons a new window will open prompting contact information and payment details.
