Lotterywest grant supports major Scitech transformation
Scitech's permanent central gallery will be transformed with 18 new exhibits.
Scitech holds a special place in the hearts and memories of so many West Aussies. But thousands of children have never experienced the wonder and awe of Scitech. Not because they’re not interested in science. They just can’t afford it.
Every child deserves wonder.
That’s why, for the past 8 years, Scitech has been partnering with local charities and schools with high rates of disadvantage to provide free admission to families doing it tough.
With the increased cost of living, more kids are missing out on the chance to enhance their learning. We want to break down barriers for as many underserved communities as we can. But we can’t do it without your help.
Please make a tax-deductible donation so Scitech can double the amount of disadvantaged school students that can attend Scitech for free next financial year.
Schools like East Maddington Primary who, thanks to the generosity of the WA community, were given free admission and transport assistance for 90 students to go on an excursion to remember!
Before the trip, our students were excited and nervous – they had never been on an interactive excursion where everything was able to be touched before” explained Jessica, the school’s Technologies Specialist Teacher.
Once we arrived, our students were engaged, excited and full of questions for the “experts”. We moved beyond the classroom to see real world applications of science that reached far beyond what a classroom or school could provide.
