Future Makers

Scitech’s Future Makers aims to inspire high school students to pursue STEM education and career pathways relevant to the defence industry.

Scitech’s Future Makers is all about getting young Western Australians excited about how science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) skills are shaping the future of the defence industry.

Through hands-on workshops, STEM challenges and career fairs, students will see how their skills can solve real-world problems and open doors to awesome careers. The program also brings parents and teachers into the conversation, helping them learn about defence industry career options and how they can support students along the way.


Get Involved

Free Scitech Excursion

Get ready for an action-packed day of discovery and hands-on learning with the Future Makers excursion! Students will roll up their sleeves in a practical innovation workshop solving real-world challenges, enjoy a captivating planetarium show, and have plenty of time to explore engaging exhibits at their own pace.

Scitech is excited to offer this fully subsidised secondary school excursion as part of the School Pathways Program, making it free for all Western Australian secondary students.

Your excursion will include:

  • Scitech Planetarium show

STEM Regional Festivals

Scitech’s STEM Regional Festivals are Back! 

We’re thrilled to bring the excitement of STEM to a region near you! Get ready to dive into fascinating areas you might have never explored before. High school students will complete an exclusive real-world innovation workshop, hear directly from inspiring STEM professionals, and get hands-on with interactive stalls showcasing various STEM careers, including exciting opportunities in the WA defence industry. Discover how cutting-edge technology and innovation are driving advancements in this dynamic field! 

And don’t worry about missing out! The whole community is welcome to join us for an evening session to chat with the professionals and explore the interactive stalls. 

Join us for a day (and evening) of discovery, innovation, and fun!
