Destination Mars invites students on a journey to explore the Red Planet through immersive, hands-on exhibits. Younger students will discover essential survival skills on Mars, while upper primary students delve into the technologies and reasons behind Mars exploration. Secondary students are challenged to solve complex problems, explore emerging careers, and consider the ethics of reaching and settling Mars.

 

Duration: 60 minutes
Years: 1-3, 4-6, and 7-10

Lower Primary program: Year 1-3
Would you survive on Mars? Students explore how technologies have helped us investigate Mars, harvest resources to sustain life, and navigate the challenges unique to living on the Red Planet. Through hands-on exhibits, students navigate Martian terrains, overcome challenges, and secure resources to survive their mission to Mars.

Upper Primary program: Years 4-6
How do we reach Mars successfully, and why should we go there in the first place? Students answer questions such as this and more, exploring technological advances, recent findings, and the potential benefits of sending humans to Mars. Students will investigate how Mars exploration may solve problems, lead to new discoveries, and improve our daily lives.

Secondary program: Years 7-10
Do you have what it takes to get humanity to Mars? Through the Destination Mars feature exhibition, students will explore the technologies, skills, and expertise that are needed to make our Martian dreams a reality. Students will investigate solutions for space travel, discover new
and emerging careers, and unravel the ethical implications of space.
