Yes, you can. If you decide you want to become a member after spending the day with us, we’ll deduct the cost of your admission ticket from a new membership.

The only thing we ask is that you join on the same day as you visit, otherwise the offer isn’t available.

Oh, and the maximum number of general admission tickets you can apply to your new membership cost is limited to the number of members who join.

Come to Scitech for the day, stay for the year.

We’re afraid not. Only the person named on the membership can use it. If you think they’d love Scitech, you can always gift them their very own membership.

Eligible forms of concession include: Centrelink-issued Pensioner Concession cards or Health Care cards, Seniors cards issued by any Australian State or Territory government, (Australian) Veterans’ Affairs cards and Australian full-time tertiary student cards.

Of course! If you’re a concession card holder or tertiary student you can receive discounted adult membership. You just need to present a valid photo or student ID when you join. You don’t, however, get a discount on gift memberships and the discount can’t be combined with other promotional offers. Just so you know.

Also, buy more and save more with group discounts! A group of 3 saves 5%, a group of 4 saves 10%, and a group of 5 saves 15%. These discounts will be automatically applied at check-out when purchasing memberships online. All members of the group must be immediate family.

Yes, this is one of the best things about being a Scitech member. Not only do you have access to Scitech, but you also gain access to other science centres in Australia.

If you are travelling overseas, you have access to reciprocal benefits at over 200 Science Centres and Museums worldwide through the ASTC passport program (www.ASTC.org/passport/).

Too easy. There are three ways you can join us at Scitech: online, onsite or by calling 9215 0740 during business hours.

You can either log into the Member Portal and renew online, drop into Scitech, email or call us on 9215 0740 during business hours – just have your membership number ready.

A reminder email will be sent leading up to your membership expiring. You can log into the Member Portal to find out when your membership expires, or contact us directly via email or call us on 9215 0740 during business hours.

You can purchase a gift membership online, onsite or by calling 9215 0740 during business hours.

You get a whole 12-months of knowledge, which starts from the date you join. If you’re gifting a membership you can choose the date you want it to start, and if you renew your membership early then your new membership period starts from the day after your current membership expires.

You bet, we hope you do. If you come along and join in person, you can go straight in. If you do it online, you’ll receive a confirmation email, which you can either print off or just show us proof of purchase on your mobile device and in you go. If you joined over the phone, just give us your name and show us some photo ID at the entry desk. All that’s left to do is have fun.

We love all our members, but we’ll tell you a secret: our favourite members are the ones who volunteer. Spreading the word (and the love) of all things STEM is why Scitech runs an active volunteer program . Alternatively, there are many citizen science projects to be a part of.

The Scitech Discovery Centre is a fun and engaging place to visit, but sometimes the trip can be an overwhelming experience for guests with Autism Spectrum Disorder or other sensory concerns. To help make the experience more accessible and enjoyable, visitors can borrow a backpack free of charge to help make the most of their visit.

A limited number of backpacks are available on a first come first serve basis.

Upon arrival, simply ask about our Sensory Backpacks at the front desk and our team can loan you a backpack for the duration of your visit (photo ID required). Please return backpacks to the front desk prior to departure.

Backpacks include:
Social Story to provide a visual guide on what to expect in the Discovery Centre.
Communication Cards – to help communicate needs and feelings
Ear defenders – provide a way to tune out unwanted sounds
Fidget toys – engage tactile, visual and auditory senses
Magnifying glass – engage with objects in a different way

As if being a member wasn’t beneficial enough, we like to give you money off, too. Your membership includes:

• 10% discount at The Discovery Shop
• 10% discount for Children’s Birthday Parties
• 10% discount for selected workshops
• 10% off selected events, including Adults Only 18+ events

Are you looking to experience a quieter, less crowded Scitech? The afternoons are usually quieter during non-school holiday and Toddlerfest periods.

Limited paid parking is available at City West. Scitech visitors have access to a $5 for 5 hours parking ticket via parking machines located inside City West Centre. Just remember to make a note of your licence plate number.

A lift is available – it goes from the car park to the ground and first floor. The entrance to the Science Centre is on the first floor.

Our galleries and shows are all wheelchair accessible.
