Yes, you can. If you decide you want to become a member after spending the day with us, we’ll deduct the cost of your admission ticket from a new membership.

The only thing we ask is that you join on the same day as you visit, otherwise the offer isn’t available.

Oh, and the maximum number of general admission tickets you can apply to your new membership cost is limited to the number of members who join.

Yes! Tables and chairs are available in the City Views eating area, where there is also a water fountain. We highly encourage all of our visitors to consider the environment and use reusable food containers and water bottles where possible.

Tickets to Scitech can be purchased at the door, however we strongly encourage online ticket orders to secure your attendance and avoid any disappointments.

Visitors under 12 must be accompanied by someone aged 16 or over. All youth can enter unaccompanied.

Some booked workshops (E.g. Scitech Lab workshops) do allow children under 12 to be dropped off as part of the program’s terms and conditions, however, we encourage guardians to stay close by in the vicinity of City West.

Eligible forms of concession include: Centrelink-issued Pensioner Concession cards or Health Care cards, Seniors cards issued by any Australian State or Territory government, (Australian) Veterans’ Affairs cards and Australian full-time tertiary student cards.

It’s a self-paced exploration. Generally, we recommend allowing two to three hours, depending on which experiences you choose to explore. Your ticket includes entry to all our regular shows and exhibitions. Your Scitech ticket is valid all day, so you can leave and re-enter as many times as you’d like.

Yes, Scitech is for everyone! We’re an all-ages Science Centre. There’s plenty to do, see and experience for all.

Our youngest explorers will especially love Discoverland, specifically designed for 0-6 year olds, and complete with pram parking.

For adults visiting without children, we particularly recommend experiencing a planetarium show, our current feature exhibition, and our gallery, Kaartadjin Koorliny.

Limited paid parking is available at City West. Scitech visitors have access to a $5 for 5 hours parking ticket via parking machines located inside City West Centre. Just remember to make a note of your licence plate number.

There are vending machines for snacks and drinks in the City Views area.

Scitech does not have a cafeteria, we encourage all our visitors to bring a packed lunch with them. During school holidays and Toddlerfest there often is a ‘pop-up’ cafe from an external vendor set up in the City Views area. There are also two cafes within City West Centre offering coffee, snacks, and meals; Forklore and Splitting Beans.

Phat Brew is just a 3-minute walk away and opposite the City West train station. Phat Brew is offering a lunch special to Scitech visitors and members. Get a chicken or tofu burger and a kid’s meal for just $35*. There is a shaded play area, highchairs, and a change station. *Proof of Scitech visit or membership required.

Other nearby food options include Watertown (5-minute walk) and BrewDog (10-minute walk).

You are also welcome to order through a food delivery service, such as UberEats or Deliveroo.

Bag shelves are available in the City Views area and the planetarium area on the ground floor. This storage is not secured or monitored, so please take your valuables with you. Scitech cannot take responsibility for any loss or damage to items left in our bag storage area.

Some of our partners do offer free entry as part of their Employee Benefit Programs. Each partner is different – please contact the Employee Benefits or Human Resources team at your employer to find out how what’s available. Please note that Scitech staff generally cannot answer questions about how these passes are allocated.

We offer concession priced Adult Tickets upon presentation of a current Australian Pensioner Concession Card, Health Care Card, Commonwealth Seniors Health Card, Veterans Affairs Card or fulltime Tertiary student card. We offer free entry to carers upon presentation of a current Companion Card.

Are you looking to experience a quieter, less crowded Scitech? The afternoons are usually quieter during non-school holiday and Toddlerfest periods.

The Scitech Lab is located on the first floor, opposite the The Discovery Shop

If a ticketed event or Scitech experience requires you to buy an additional ticket, it will be clearly indicated on all publicity and communications. If you’re unsure, just ask us.

A lift is available – it goes from the car park to the ground and first floor. The entrance to the Science Centre is on the first floor.

Prams are permitted throughout our Science Centre however they are not allowed in our theatres.

Pram parking is available near Discoverland.
