Through the support of Woodside Energy, we are currently recruiting schools to participate in the Integrated Digital Technologies program, which is provided for free in 2025 to schools in Karratha.

This fully funded program is based on the pillars of:

  • Engaging students with inquiry learning of Digital Technologies, integrated within authentic learning projects
  • Developing teacher capacity, confidence and best teaching practices in the integration of the Digital Technologies curriculum into everyday learning
  • Supporting parents to make Digital Technologies feel safe and fun!

The program offers four to six teachers of Years 1-6 (including specialist teachers) the opportunity to participate in:

  • Professional Learning workshops exploring effective integration of Digital Technologies and complementary teaching strategies
  • Individual face-to-face and remote consultations to support teacher delivery throughout the program
  • Networking opportunities with participating schools in the area
  • Development of education resources in collaboration with Scitech staff to address specific school needs

Participating schools will receive a class set of Micro:bits for use in the delivery of any of the four WA Curriculum aligned projects included in the program.

Participating schools will be offered either:

  • A day long STEM Challenge Day incursion for up to 100 students from Years 3 to 6. During this day, students will work collaboratively on a design-thinking challenge, framed in a real-world context.
  • A community event, “Catch a Hacker”, delivered by Scitech staff. This event is designed to engage families within the school community in fun problem-solving tasks, based on the principles of coding. This event caters for a maximum of 50 families.

If your school is interested in participating, please complete the expression of interest form below. Please note, your school’s alignment with the program will be considered in the selection process.
