Schools’ Weather Wall: Digital Resources

Make the most out of your Schools' Weather Wall experience by utilising the digital resource pack – teaching materials, posters, certificates and more.

You have reached the main content region of the page.

Welcome to the digital resources hub for the Schools’ Weather Wall. Here, you will find additional materials that aim to enrich your involvement in the program by deepening your students’ understanding of weather and its impact on our daily lives.

We hope that the resources found on this page will inspire you to use your experience of collecting weather data to explore STEM concepts across different curriculum areas in your classroom.

So, what is included in the digital resource pack?

Scitech Weather Kit
The Weather Kit includes factsheets, how-to guides for using the data collection equipment, suggested weather-related STEM activities, as well as links to current citizen science projects, national and international weather databases.

To inspire some thinking about how your experience can be integrated into other learning areas, the Weather Kit also outlines some exciting suggestions for incorporating weather into Maths, English, Humanities and Social Sciences, Physical Education and beyond!

Digital Pack
The digital pack contains posters that can printed and placed in your classroom window to let everyone know that you are participating in the Schools’ Weather Wall program.

It also includes digitally editable certificates. Each participating student can receive a personalised certificate from recognising their efforts in collecting data for the Schools’ Weather Wall.

Finally, a daily weather record chart is available to be printed. This will help your students keep track of other weather-related information that could be recorded as part of the experience, such as sunrise and sunset times, overall weather conditions, and types of cloud cover.

Digital Temperature and Rainfall Charts

Temperature and rainfall recording charts can be printed or edited digitally. These charts allow you and your students to collect and record data throughout the entire year. Digital charts also analyse the entered data so that your students can discuss the changes in weather each month, compare collected data to official records made by the Bureau of Meteorology and continue using their data collection skills beyond the scope of the program.

NOTE: These charts work best when edited on desktop apps such as Adobe Acrobat Reader. If you are using the PDF in your web browser, ensure that you do so through Chrome or Firefox.
